RETRO KITCHEN RENOVATION

A sustainable 1970s-90s retro-futuristic kitchen. Recycled materials include plywood, perspex, the sink, timber venetian blinds (used around the curves) and taps.

CLIENT BRIEF AND DESIGN SOLUTION

The aim was to replace a dysfuctional kitchen with an interesting and enjoyable workspace. The original kitchen was small, dark and cramped. The space was dominated by the refridgerator, and the storgae was inadequate.

The fridge was moved out of the kitchen and recessed into an adjoining space. A restful workspace with a simple 'u' shape resulted. A skylight was added to provide natural light. All shelves and cupboards followed the same fluid curves.
