new kitchen for a Balmain apartment

The brief was to design a new kitchen and storage unit while at the same time 'smartening up' the entry and the overall look and feel of the apartment.

The existing kitchen had an island bench in an open plan space in front of the entry. The owner wanted the kitchen to feel more private and hidden without putting up a wall.

The new design introduced an island bench that had a storage wall on the front which was raised up to hide the sink and the kitchen. Opposite the island bench is a new wall storage unit which has a recessed 'window' with glass shelves for ornaments.

The new design is made from Corrian which allows joints to be welded providing a seamless form. The new design created an entry foyer while also improving functional and storage aspects.
